Resources for US Vietnam Veterans
More information about Agent Orange and Veterans can be found at our Agent Orange Record Website.
Filing a claim with the VA:
Check out the VA website to see if you meet the qualifications for benefits/health care.
Vietnam Veterans of America has published a very informative guide to help veterans applying for benefits from the VA. VVA's Self-Help Guide to Service Connected Disability Compensation for Exposure to Agent Orange.
It is highly recommended that you use the services of one of the Veterans Service Organizations in your community to help you with the process of filing a claim with the VA to receive benefits for one of the conditions associated with exposure to Agent Orange. A searchable list of these organizations can be found on the VA website.
For assistance in appealing a VA claim at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (Court) go to The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program.
Research on Health Impacts of Agent Orange/Dioxin:
Every two years the Institute of Medicine publishes a summary of the research that has been done on Agent Orange/Dioxin and provides recommendations to the VA for conditions that should be added to the list. You can read/search the Veterans and Agent Orange 2012 and past publications on-line.
