Early Intervention Program
|
|
|
Unfortunately in most children with disabilities in
Vietnam, including those believed to be affected by Agent
Orange/Dioxin, do not have access to early identification and early
intervention programs. This is particularly true for those who live in rural
areas. As a result many children do not receive the
services they need in order to reach their full potential.

|
One of WLP's partners, the Office of
Genetic Counseling and Disabled Children (OGCDC) at the Hue
School of Medicine, has taken steps to remedy this
situation. With help from donors in the US, France, Belgium,
Australia and Vietnam, OGCDC built an early intervention
center in rural Nam Dong District in Thua Thien Hue
province.
WLP supported the center by providing
equipment for the center's rehabilitation and class rooms.

With your help WLP can continue to support the center's
on-going operating costs. Your support will help WLP pay for
the teacher's and therapist's salaries, buy materials for
the class activities, provide daily lunches and snacks for
the children and cover other operating costs of the program.
